ENDOSCOPIKI SA supported in collaboration with Fujifilm Holdings Corporation and Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH the Endobronchial Ultrasound EBUS Training Programme Part One, organized by the Associate Professor of Respiratory Medicine N.K.U of Athens Dr. Grigoris Stratakos and the European Respiratory Society. The training programme was conducted on November 03-04 at the Interventional Pulmonology Unit of the A’ University Pulmonology Clinic of Athens Medical School, which is one of the main reference centers for Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) in Greece.
EBUS Training Programme Part One
During the certified training programme EBUS Training Programme Part One, participants had the chance to cover the theoretical knowledge that is required for Endobronchial Ultrasound EBUS. The clinical literature relevant to EBUS was reviewed and the innovative medical devices by Fujifilm Holdings Corporation and Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH were presented. The highly experienced faculty members, consisting of J. Annema, Ph. Emmanouil, N. Koufos, N. Anagnostopoulos, A. Rozman, E. Koukaki, J. Kuijvenhoven, V. Vitsas, K. Kontogianni, S. Chryssikos, I. Athanasopoulos demonstrated various techniques used for Endobronchial Ultrasound EBUS.
First Official Presentation of ΕΒ-710 P
ENDOSCOPIKI SA for the first time in the Greek Interventional Pulmonology market presented the innovative new slim bronchoscope EB-710P by Fujifilm Holdings Corporation. The innovative new slim bronchoscope EB-710P by Fujifilm is equipped with an exceptionally compact CMOS Sensor. This technology means that the tip is a mere 4.1 mm in diameter with a field of view of 120˚. In this way endoscopists can penetrate the periphery of the lung much more easily than with a conventional system. It is compatible with the new generation Endoscope Processors ELUXEO™ and with its One-Step Connector, the bronchoscope can be connected to the light source in a single step. In addition, there is a rotation mechanism that enables 120˚ rotation which allows the user to return the endoscope safely to its original position. Finally, the new control portion is equipped with a wider grip, new suction valve, and four switches, which allows smooth handling.
SU-1 Processor & EB-530 US Ultrasonic Bronchoscope
During the training programme, the faculty used the already installed Endobronchial Ultrasound Processor SU-1 by Fujifilm and the Ultrasound Bronchoscope EB-530US. The EB-530US has excellent manoeuvrability and the insertion capability to reduce patient discomfort and improve operator efficiency. Moreover, the ultrasonography Processor SU-1 provides high quality images and imaging modes, thus supporting accurate punctures. Finnaly, the scope’s 10° forward oblique view in combination with a 120° field of view improves manoeuvrability and safety during Transbronchial Needle Aspiration (TBNA) procedures.
Electrosurgical Workstation VIO3 – APC3 – ERBECRYO 2
The state-of-the-art electrosurgical workstation VIΟ3 by Erbe Elektromedizin is the world’s best-selling system. The electrosurgical workstation VIΟ3 uses 15 digital signal processors with a capacity of 25 million measurements/sec. This facilitates superior system performance and improves reproducibility of the tissue effect. The electrosurgical workstation VIΟ3 allows the simultaneous use of up to 6 instruments. The large touchscreen with its graphical user interface, ensures user friendliness, allowing to control easily all parameters. In addition, we presented Argon Plasma Coagulation system APC3, which offers operating convenience when connected to the logical and plausible VIO 3 interface. The Argon Plasma Coagulation system, is adjustable with a 100-step effect setting and provides pulsedAPC, forcedAPC modes and preciseAPC for the lower power range and sensitive structures. The ERBECRYO®2 system enables the use of cryotherapy techniques for endobronchial operations. With the user friendly plug and play function, ERBECRYO®2 system automatically adjusts all the appropriate parameters for each sensor. Simultaneously, it displays all the important settings on the screen and is activated via a foot switch, offering tremendous ease of use.
