History
ENDOSCOPIKI SA is the first Greek MedTech company that offered advanced and innovative solutions in endoscopy to the Greek market. Theofanis K. Kaloglou, created a company selling medical devices in 1967 with the primary goal to improve the lives of Greeks. Until today, he remains active, holding the position of honorary president, and sets an example as a symbol of hard work and insight. Later, in 1984, ENDOSCOPIKI became an LLC, as a result of its continuous growth and successful course, envisioning its bright future and its dominant position in the Greek market. When ENDOSCOPIKI became a Société Anonyme in 1998, its position was consolidated and new development paths were created both for the company and the industry in general.
Under the leadership of Kimon Kaloglou, ENDOSCOPIKI LLC enters the IVF industry for the first time in Greece, with the distribution of important companies such as Wallace (now Cooper Surgical) and MTG (now Vitrolife).
ENDOSCOPIKI LLC begins its collaboration with the German company Dornier MedTech, which specializes in the field of urology Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). This year is a milestone for the field of urology in Greece, as the ENDOSCOPIKI installed the first ESWL lithotripter (HM3 Model) in the Urology Clinic of Sismanoglio Hospital.
Initial discussions and negotiations of Theofanis Kaloglou with the president of FUJIFILM Europe. After 3 years of negotiations, a partial agreement was reached which required the sale of 7 endoscopes in one year. The goal was achieved, since 21 endoscopes were sold in 1977 and FUJIFILM Europe trusted Theofanis Kaloglou for the exclusive representation and distribution in Greece in 1979.
Theofanis K. Kaloglou comes to an agreement with Ms. Sybill Storz for the exclusive representation and distribution of KARL STORZ in Greece, cooperation that lasted many years.
The first contact of Theofanis K. Kaloglou with the MedTech sector was when he working as a technician in the flexible and rigid endoscopes for OLYMPUS and KARL STORZ companies. Both companies had offered him training in Hamburg, Germany. Around the same time (1966-1967) while he was participating in major trade fairs for medical devices he observed the dynamic entry of FUJIFILM Europe into the field of medical devices, which becomes an inhibiting factor for the future progress of ENDOSKOPIKI SA.
